Only administrative paper work is required to complete the USC approval of these products. For our little company it just does not get much better than days like today.

6"- 8" 20/30 (DC/DCDA) Released for Field Evaluation

We are on a roll!! The 6" and 8" Deringer 20/30 (DC/DCDA) Horizontal & Vertical recently completed the USC Laboratory Evaluation and today was released for field evaluation. We expect the one year field test for these products to initiate the week of December 14, 2015. Another huge milestone for Backflow Direct.

The Deringer Product Line includes a total of 20 products. As of today Backflow Direct has successfully completed the USC laboratory evaluation for 16 of these products.

USC Laboratory Evaluation Today for the 2 1/2" , 3", 4" 40/50 (RP/RPDA)

The 2 1/2, 3" and 4" Deringer 40/50 (RP/RPDA) recently completed the USC Laboratory Evaluation and today was released for field evaluation. We expect the one year field test for these products to initiate the week of December 14, 2015. Those familiar with the USC approval process would acknowledge that this is a very big day for Backflow Direct.

Backflow Direct is pleased to announce the most recent addition to our representative program Amir Rosenfeld with Q&A Unique Solutions. Q&A will be responsible for representing Backflow Direct and The Deringer in the New York City, Long Island, Rockland County and Westchester County region.

Q&A Unique Solutions was established in April of 2007 with the goal of providing cost effective high quality products and systems that operate problem free for many years. This is accomplished by using "outside the box" thinking to drive quality products and services that do not cut corners or use short cuts on projects. Newest Addition to Backflow Direct's Associate Program

Backflow Direct is pleased to announce the newest addition to our Representative Program, John and Tamra Boyce with Boyce and Associates. John and Tamra will be tasked with reping our products in Southern California.

John is a veteran of the Backflow Industry and has worked for Cla-Val, Febco Bailey and A.R.I promoting the products over the past 30 plus years. Recently he and his wife Tamra ventured off to establish their own Representative Agency in the Southern California area. The experience of this group working within the Fire Protection,Waterworks Plumbing and Commercial markets has led Boyce and Associates to become one of the premiere agencies in the Southern California area.

Big Dog Sales, Inc Joins the Backflow Direct Associates Program!

North West as the newest addition to our representative program! Bill will be tasked with representing our company and products in the state of Washington.

Bill joins our team bringing an extensive backround in the backflow industry. He began his career owning and operating his own sales rep firm down in southern California representing the FEBCO product line during the “heyday” of the backflow industry. After 20 years of success, Bill had to part ways with the rep firm he built and went to work as a sales manager for T Christy selling plumbing, waterworks and construction materials. A decade later, Bill left T Christy and opened up his second rep firm, Big Dog Sales, representing waterworks and plumbing products throughout the states of Arizona and New Mexico. In an effort to be closer to family, Bill and his wife moved up to Washington and reestablished Big Dog Sales North West with the goal of introducing and representing products like the Deringer to the Washington market.

We couldn’t be more pleased to team up with the knowledge and expertise of Bill and Big Dog Sales and we look forward to a bright and successful future between our companies. Welcome aboard Bill!

Below is a photo of a 4" Deringer 20 recently installed in Northern California. This unit is replacing an epoxy coated cast iron unit that had corroded through the body. This week Backflow Direct had the opportunity to exhibit at the Texas Commission for Environmental Quality's Annual Public Drinking Water Conference. The Deringer created a "buzz" around the conference and many of the attendees stopped by our booth to see a live demonstration and to get an up close look at our 4" Deringer 20 and learn more about the many innovative features that makes this design so unique. We look forward to bringing the next generation of large diameter backflow to the state of Texas!

The picture below shows Brad Scott, our Director of Sales and Marketing, introducing the Deringer to the Virginia Chapter of the American Backflow Prevention Association at their quarterly meeting. The attendees at this meeting expressed repeatedly how excited they were about the many innovative features that benefit the installing contractor AND the service technician who performs the annual testing and periodical maintenance. Being given the opportunity to introduce the Deringer directly to backflow professionals in a setting where they can give immediate feedback is an invaluable experience for us and we look forward to more opportunities like this in the future!

Silver State Chapter of the American Backflow Prevention Association

Today, Backflow Direct had the opportunity to introduce the Deringer to the Silver State Chapter of the American Backflow Prevention Association. The audience provided a lot of excitement and positive feedback about features like the dual action check modules, rebuild able integrated shut off valves and the all stainless housing. Many members of the audience wanted to get a hands on demonstration of the Deringer (pictured below) and our sales and marketing director was happy to provide it. Days like today remind us how lucky we are to be in such a great industry.

Ohio Water Environment Annual Conference and Trade Show

Backflow Direct is pleased to announce the next addition to our team of associates, Chris & CJ Hart with United Backflow Solutions. United Backflow Solutions will oversee the state of Florida promoting the Deringer line to contractors & backflow professionals, gaining approvals with municipalities and water authorities as well as being an approved warranty service provider.

Chris was introduced to the backflow industry in the late 1980’s when Wilkins hired his independent rep firm, Hart & Reichert Associates, to promote their backflow preventer lines. After more than a decade of success in the irrigation and plumbing backflow markets, Chris and his firm assisted in the development of the fire protection and waterworks backflow markets in the southern regions of Florida. During the recession in the late 2000’s, Hart & Reichert Associates parted ways with Wilkins and led Chris and his son CJ to establish United Backflow Solutions in 2010. United Backflow Solutions was created as a sales and marketing firm strictly dedicated to marketing and selling the next generation of backflow preventers. Utilizing their passion for the product, knowledge and experience United Backflow Solutions has had major success in introducing new and innovative backflow preventers to their local market and beyond.

Backflow Engineering Group Joins the Backflow Direct Associate Program

Backflow Direct is pleased to announce the newest member to our associate program, Scot McEwen with Backflow Engineering Group, Inc. Scot will be covering the state of Georgia promoting the Deringer line to contractors & backflow professionals, gaining approvals with municipalities and water authorities as well as being an approved warranty service provider.

In 1985, Backflow Engineering Group was established shortly after Scot received his initial backflow testing certification from Dr. Palmer at the NETTI institute and was the first commercial plumbing and mechanical firm in Georgia to be dedicated solely to backflow testing, repair and installation. For many years, Scot has played a major role in the development of the cross connection control program in Georgia. From serving on the State of Georgia Environmental Protection Division panel to create a statewide curriculum for backflow testing certification, to chartering the current “Peach State 1788” chapter of ABPA, to teaching certification courses at state colleges and training facilities to future backflow and water professionals, Scot continues to be a driving force behind cross connection control regulation and education.

We are excited to be working with someone with the same passion for backflow we have and look forward to a successful relationship between our companies. Welcome to the program Scot!

The Entire Deringer Product line Receives NSF Approval

Today, the entire Backflow Direct Deringer Product Line received certification per NSF/ANSI 372 Lead Free Requirements.

The NSF/ANSI 372 certification is required in order sell backflow preventers in many US states [effective January 2014 per Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA)]. This is a difficult, expensive, time consuming and tedious approval to obtain, however, it is a great feeling to have completed all 51 configurations of the Deringer product line in a single focused effort.

2 1/2"-4" Deringer 20 (DC) ASSE Approved!

Today, Backflow Direct has taken another big step in the approval process. We are pleased to announce that our 2 1/2 - 4" Deringer 20 DC models are now ASSE approved to be installed in the vertical orientation! This approval gives our customers an alternate option for installation when variables such as limited space are a factor and a horizontal installation is not possible. The OHIO Blitz has officially begun!

The OHIO Blitz has officially begun! Ohio accepts the installation of Backflow Preventers with ASSE, UL and FM approvals. For the last two weeks we have been cold calling Backflow Professionals throughout the greater Columbus region obtaining contacts and addresses for our first product mailer which includes literature, spec sheets, price list and product comparisons. It really feels like the early days at Ames…exciting times! Thank you Lisa and Brad for your nose to the grind stone commitment to our OHIO Blitz. After Ohio...Michigan is our next blitz effort.

ASSE Approval!

Today, Backflow Direct celebrated a major achievement in the approval process for the Deringer backflow line. The Deringer 20 (DC) in sizes 2.5 - 4" in horizontal orientation is now officially ASSE approved!

Great News from FM!

Today we received the following message from Chris, our project engineer at FM:

"I am happy to report that ALL your butterfly valve testing was completed successfully today."

This is great news as the FM approval of the entire Deringer Product Line is dependent upon the FM approval of the SS705 butterfly valve line. FM approval of the Deringer line will happen as soon as mid-February!

We would like to welcome the newest member of the Backflow Direct Team, Brad.

Brad Scott joins the Backflow Direct team as the DIRECTOR OF SALES AND MARKETING, responsible for maintaining a positive and efficient sales experience under our direct sales model, creating new and dynamic marketing strategies for the Deringer Line, providing technical and customer support, and contributing to the assembly of the Backflow Direct ASSOCIATE PROGRAM.

Brad started in the backflow industry at the age of 14 years old assisting his father in backflow repairs and installations. Shortly after graduating high school Brad became a certified backflow tester through the California/Nevada chapter of the American Water Works Association. In 2007, alongside his father, Brad assisted in opening Backflow Technologies, a Sacramento based sales and service company strictly dedicated to backflow.

Over the next seven years Brad gained comprehensive knowledge and experience in backflow sales and consulting, troubleshooting technical problems for testers/contractors in the field and spending many hours doing testing, repairs and installations. It is through this broad skill set and extensive background in the backflow industry that Brad will make a great addition to the Backflow Direct team.
